Audio recording is a specialty that is a required friend of video. Video without good audio is pretty much useless. So in my pursuit to be the king of all things video, I've had to enhance my knowledge of audio. Oh my, there's a lot to learn. Audio is an amazing field, I have come far, and have acquired some respectable gear (that means expensive, but not so expensive the wife implodes...). Including a Korg portable digital studio, and several microphones. Add that to some expensive pro audio software (Sonar), and you have a video guy with extraordinary audio powers...

So I now have the capability of recording and editing audio performances, voice overs, radio commercials, etc.

 UPDATE: OK, Christmas gift was a 16 track digital firewire mixer. WOW. This means we now have a 16 track live recording setup. We can record 14 tracks directly to the laptop (2 tracks are returns)... so we can record separate tracks  for each microphone, guitar, drums, etc.... then mix it all back at the studio. This give us the ability to make a great live recording.

We've recorded Jody and the band this way a few times now, and the results are awesome. 

We've added some new microphones, and some special cables to take separate channels directly from the bands audio mixer/amp.... sweet setup....
